Shania Twain was born as Eilleen Regina Edwards in 1965. Her mother remarried when she was six to a full-blooded Ojibwa native that adopted her makin her 50% native. She started singing very early but had to stop her carreer when her mother and step-father died in an accident and had to take care of her step-brothers. Later she changed her name to Shania and started releasing records. Her first one was not very important but her second became an instant world wide hit.
